Research

Broadly speaking, my goal is to better understand the vast mental health disparities experienced by LGBTQ youth, and to improve evidence-based clinical care for these youth and their families.

My research focuses on the emotional mechanisms that contribute to and maintain internalizing psychopathology. I am particularly interested in how these processes function in populations under chronic stress (e.g., LGBTQ folks) during critical developmental transitions (e.g., adolescence).

Originally trained as an affective scientist, my research spans a number of domains (as you will see below), including: emotion regulation, LGBTQ mental health, and evidence-based care for children and adolescents.
